Our History

Restaurant Aisyah started out in April 2020, serving Chinese hand-pulled noodles, Xinjiang Skewers & Dumplings at our iconic heritage shophouse at Telok Ayer, Chinatown. Surrounded by history and in a traditionally Chinese neighbourhood, we strived to bring a breath of fresh air to the area.

The quaint shophouse was often crowded with limited seating, but that didn’t stop our amazing customers from braving the elements and space to have a meal with us.

Unfortunately, the journey didn’t end as we expected and our Telok Ayer outlet closed down after 3 fantastic years.

Belief

Our belief is to create a community where everyone can coexist through authentic Xinjiang Chinese Cuisine, sharing joy and laughter over a casual meal. We want to share the flavours of Xinjiang with as many people as possible.

Xinjiang Flavours

The Uyghur people call Xinjiang their home, and their unique culinary traditions have captivated many across the world. Due to their geographical location, mutton and beef make up the majority of the meat they consume.

Grilled meat skewers, seasoned with salt, black pepper, chili powder, and cumin, are a popular dish in Xinjiang. Uyghur cuisine also often makes use of red pepper flakes, and chilli sauces made from garlic and hot oil, giving it that irresistible ‘kick’ we know and love. Hand-pulled noodles, served with meat and vegetables, are another common Uyghur dish in Xinjiang. Apart from noodles, many dishes are also served with rice and naan. Due to their proximity with other ethnic groups, Uyghur cuisine is also influenced by Russian and other Chinese dishes.
